Biography

Ivanka is a Forensic Psychologist with a Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology. She is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), a Fellow of the College of Forensic Psychologists, and a Board Approved Supervisor who is forensically endorsed. She has 18 years experience working in the public sector, initially working in the child protection area with vulnerable children and their families and for the last 11 years assessing and treating adult offenders in a custodial setting. She has extensive experience in risk assessment and writing forensic reports for sentencing and releasing authorities for both violent and sexual offenders. She has also provided supervision to provisionally registered psychologists as well as to psychologists for the purposes of endorsement.

During her time with Corrective Services NSW, she specialised in the assessment and treatment of adults who have committed violent offences. She conducted assessments and provided intensive treatment to people with a complex range of comorbidities alongside with their violent offending, including serious mental illness, personality disorders, drug and alcohol addiction, sexual offending, offenders who are associated with OMCGs, and offenders who have been highlighted within the custodial system as potentially radicalised through their religious beliefs and practices. She has experience in providing both individual and group based treatment. She has a particular interest in working with clients who have experienced complex trauma.

Ivanka also has private practice experience providing evidence-based individual treatment for people experiencing a range of clinical presentations including mood disorders, trauma and abuse, personality disorders, substance abuse, stress, relationship difficulties and anger management.
