Biography

Andrew is a Clinical Psychologist with over ten years’ experience working in a variety of clinical and forensic settings, including community and custody based sexual and violent offender programs, inpatient and outpatient mental health, and the private sector. He holds a Master of Clinical Psychology from Macquarie University. Andrew is an associate with the NSW Child Sex Offender Counsellor Accreditation Scheme and a certified trainer in the Safepath program (a schema therapy-based therapeutic approach for teams).

Andrew has an empathic and collaborative therapeutic style, and he uses an integrative, process-orientated, and pragmatic approach to ensure treatment is responsive to client needs, addresses skills deficits, reinforces strengths, and promotes personal growth. He has experience providing therapy to adolescents and adults presenting with a wide range of mental health issues, including anxiety, mood, trauma, problems managing emotions, alcohol and substance use disorders, and other psychological difficulties. Andrew practices from several evidence-based treatment modalities, including Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Through forensic-orientated roles, Andrew has developed proficiency at working with clients who present with challenging and complex psychopathology, such as sexual dysregulation and addiction, complex trauma, and problems with emotional and behavioural regulation.
